For more than 50 years, The Children’s Guild has met a critical need in Maryland, providing high-quality special education for children and young adults with serious emotional, behavioral and mental disabilities. By all accounts, we are doing an exceptional job thanks to visionary leadership, a talented staff and our innovative Transformation Education approach.
While state dollars underwrite basics needs, we must continue to depend on the vision, commitment and generosity of our private donors and public partners to sustain the innovation and service quality for which we are so widely recognized. Over the years, a multitude of foundations, corporations, individuals and public agencies have considered The Children’s Guild a worthwhile investment. With their help, we have significantly enhanced our basic programs to meet the growing needs of our students. However, we are now at a critical juncture as we look toward the next 50 years.
In the past, retained earnings were sufficient to cover cash-flow and program expansion. But as The Children’s Guild has grown, so has its need for a more comfortable financial platform—one that allows us to attract and retain the highest quality teachers, clinicians and staff, while also offering the best possible programs within a meaningful and stimulating environment.
So we launched the National Children’s Guild Fund to provide for future generations to come.
